LAURA VAN PROOYEN
Laura Van Prooyen is the author of The Inkblot and Altar (Pecan Grove Press, 2006). Her second collection of poems, Resist, was a finalist for the 2011 Lexi Rudnitsky/Editor’s Choice Award from Persea Books.  Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The American Poetry Review, Boston Review, RHINO, and The Southern Review. She is a recipient of grants from the American Association of University Women and the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund and a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prize. Van Prooyen received an MFA in poetry from Warren Wilson College. She teaches at Henry Ford Academy: Alameda School for Art + Design.  end
