This undated photo of Larry Levis was taken in David Freed’s studio sometime between 1992 and 1993. Freed used the snapshot as a reference for the images of Levis in “Portrait of L.L.,” the broadside of “The Two Trees,” and the fine press book of “Elegy with a Thimbleful of Water in the Cage.”
