Things on Purpose

like blooming and going to seed
of gaillardia and guara the seasonal
nights brimming with resident creatures
cold etching feathers on the window
glass delicate as down and coin silver
o
I almost misspoke temporality for money
as if I could buy back priceless gradations
of past experience made of wrought iron
and sunlight or the ears of wisteria
becoming the lame doe’s haunch
  end
