Melanie Faranello’s work has appeared in Fifth Wednesday Journal, Literary Mama, The Ampersand Review,and Requited, among others. For her fiction, she was the recipient of The New School’s Chapbook Award in Fiction in 2004, a finalist in Sarabande Books’ Mary McCarthy Prize in Short Fiction, a top twenty-five winner in Glimmer Train’s Very Short Fiction Contest, and a semi-finalist in Dana Awards for the Novel. She holds an MFA in creative writing from The New School.
