back CLAUDIA EMERSON

Sewanee Reading, 2013

During the 2013 Sewanee Writers’ Conference, where she was a member of the poetry faculty, Claudia Emerson read from her work, particularly from her collections-in-progress—The Opposite House, Impossible Bottle, and Claude Before Time and Space. This video recording, provided by the conference, gives a sense of her generosity and warmth as both a teacher and poet.

We are grateful to the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and to Wyatt Prunty, Adam Latham, and Megan Roberts for making this video available.

The conference is presented by the University of the South through the generosity of the Walter E. Dakin Memorial Fund, supported by the estate of the late Tennessee Williams. To learn more about the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and their YouTube presentations go to sewaneewriters.org.
