Black Snow

Your incandescent touch leaves
Painful foes on my shoulder
Shadows that sleep on each
Other like black snow
Over black snow

I stop reinforcing the hate
That comes with knowing you
Yesterday was a sin spooning
My mouth with quiet amber
That disappears around the bend
Of another mouth

We are all sinners craving
Thunderstorms after thunderstorms
We all give birth to moving shadows

Doubts that won’t melt black snow
We all do this to each other
Across the astral belt

We all do this with our eyes wide open
Our hearts shut like doors
