Catherine Pierce's first full-length poetry collection, Famous Last Words (Saturnalia Books, 2007), won the 2007 Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize and is scheduled for publication in January 2008. Pierce also authored a chapbook, Animals of Habit (Kent State, 2004). Her poems have appeared in Slate, Gulf Coast, Mid-American Review, Barrow Street, and the anthology, Best New Poets 2007. She has a PhD from the University of Missouri and an MFA from Ohio State University. Pierce teaches English and creative writing at Mississippi State University.
