Named Best Online Publication

Blackbird has won the Million Writers Award for best online publication of 2007 by having seven stories selected as “notable stories of the year.” The award was announced on April 30, 2008, by storySouth, the journal that sponsors the competition. A panel of seventeen preliminary judges selected the stories. The storySouth citation for the award concludes

The authors of the seven selected stories from Blackbird volume six are Anne Germanacos, Michael Griffith, Richard Jespers, William Henry Lewis, Jill McCorkle, Sruthi Thekkiam, and Laura Madeline Wiseman.
