JENNIFER H. FORTIN

A System Pamphlet (With Illustration of How They Hide)

Believe the budding appetite, bell curving
the pit of netted flesh. It is the point
of shortage, how we are most
piqued as hopeful examiners. No
regrets varnish linings then,
we are not hungry but we are
not not hungry. Let’s you & I busily
doff every single dust jacket encountered,
undercover agents calling & called
into question. Normally we bruise easily, are livid.
Meanwhile a ghost prepares in the kitchen.
We pace the blueprinted grounds, familiar,
instinctually wrecking-ball ankled. Witness:
our ravenous summary. Do they even know
about fame & rumor, the flattened recognized
ones who cover their values, arms x-ed to knees.  end
