Blackbird publishes new issues twice a year. The notion of “issue” is both a nod to the print journal and a way for us to call attention to the new work of a limited number of writers. However, publishing online allows us keep all issues available for reading, listening, and viewing. On this page, we wish to point you toward some of the content you may have missed but which still lives in our Archives.

		Norman Dubie, v1n2, v2n1, v2n2, and v7n1 Blackbird began publishing Norman Dubie’s book-length futurist poem, The Spirit Tablets at Goa Lake, with “Book of the Jewel Worm” in v1n2. The other two sections, “Book of the Jaspers” and “The Book of the Crying Kanglings,” appeared in v2n1 and v2n2 respectively. A master menu connects the sections across the three issues. Five new poems by Dubie appeared in v7n1.

		Tracking the Muse, v8n1 The latest edition of this annual feature looks at the process of writing from the points of view of four of the emerging writers who were included in our “Introductions” Reading Loop. Nicky Beer, Kara Candito, Thomas Cooper, and Anna Journey discuss how the happenstance and anguish of revision contribute to the magic and hard work of creative expression.

		Eleanor Ross Taylor, v1n1, v7n1 Poems by Eleanor Ross Taylor as well as an audio interview with her appeared in v1n1, and poems also appear in v7n1. In this issue, Susan Settlemyre Willams reflects on Taylor’s fifty years as a published poet. Taylor’s Captive Voices: New and Selected Poems, 1960–2008 has been published by Louisiana State University Press.

		Gerald Stern, v2n2, v7n2 Poems by Gerald Stern appear in v2n2 and v7n2, where he is also a participant in a tribute to Carol Houck Smith. The poem in v7n2, part of our annual Levis Loop, reflects his deep friendship with Larry Levis. He is represented in this issue by “I,” a long poem that finds its genesis in the architecture of lower Second Avenue in New York and in the personae of the prophet Isaiah.

		R. T. Smith, v1n1, v3n1, v5n1 Poems tracing the landscapes of Ireland appeared in v1n1, and stories of the rural South graced v3n1 and v5n1. The poems in this issue investigate the intelligent sensibility of Flannery O’Connor with wit and perceptive ventriloquy. The poems aim to give life, in poetry, to a distinct voice from fiction. They succeed in doing so through the subtle gifts of the poet’s own métier.

		Sarah Vap, v5n1, v6n1, v7n2 Poems by Sarah Vap appear in v5n1 and v7n2, and a review of her work by Anna Journey was published in V6n1. She is represented in this issue by an essay that explores “a mothering mind and the creative process.” She begins, “Anyone who knows my son Oskar knows how he feels about cars. And trucks. And heavy machinery.” The essay is as remarkable as the poems.

		Jake Adam York, v3n2, v4n1, v5n1, v5n2, v7n2 Poems by Jake Adam York appear in v4n1 and v5n2, reviews of his books in v5n1 and v7n2, and an interview in v4n1. York’s poems explore the historically voiceless in the hope that by lending their words to the Southern landscape where they lived, he can help to reclaim that landscape for a partial redemption. The poem “Forever,” in this issue, continues that project.
