ASHJAN AL HENDI

Ashjan Al Hendi was born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her doctoral degree from the Department of Language and Arabic Literature at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She has published several volumes of poetry, Riq al-Ghaimat (2010), Rain Has a Taste of Lemon (2007), and Dream Smell of Rain (1996), as well as a book of critical essays, Engagement with Heritage in the Contemporary Poetry of Women in Arabian Peninsula (1996). She is currently assistant professor of Modern Arabic Literature in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature, King Abdulaziz University.  end
