Ramola D RAMOLA D

Ramola D teaches creative writing at The George Washington University and The Writer’s Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Her short fiction collection Temporary Lives, forthcoming from the University of Massachusetts Press, recently won the 2008 AWP Grace Paley Award in Short Fiction. Her poetry collection Invisible Season won the 1998 Washington Writers’ Publishing House award. A 2005 recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in Poetry, Ramola D has had her poetry, fiction, essays, and interviews appear in Prairie Schooner, Green Mountains Review, The Asian Pacific American Journal, Indiana Review, The Writer’s Chronicle (AWP), and other journals. Her work has been reprinted in Best American Fantasy (Prime Books, 2007), Enhanced Gravity: More Fiction by Washington DC Women Writers (Paycock Press, 2006), and Best American Poetry 1994 (Touchstone Book, 1994). Her verse has also been printed on metro buses in Arlington, Virginia, as part of the Moving Words poetry competition (April–September 2005).
