Anis Shivani is the author of several books of poetry and fiction, most recently My Tranquil War and Other Poems (NYQ Books, 2012), The Fifth Lash and Other Stories (C&R Press, 2012), Against the Workshop (Texas Review Press, 2011), and Anatolia and Other Stories (Black Lawrence Press, 2009). His debut novel, Karachi Raj, is forthcoming in 2014. His work has appeared in Epoch, Antioch Review, Cambridge Quarterly, AGNI, Fence, and Phoebe, among others.
