KHALED AL-MASRI
translating Mohammad Almoghrabi

Khaled Al-Masri has edited several Arabic translations of English novels, including Housekeeping, Gilead, and Home by Marilynne Robinson and The Known World by Edward P. Jones. He has published, in Arabic, a book on the fiction of prominent Iraqi author Gha’ib Tu’mah Faraman, and is editor and cotranslator of a forthcoming anthology of Arabic short stories to be published by Penguin. Al-Masri obtained his PhD in Near Eastern studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his MA and BA in Arabic language and literature from Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan. He joined Harvard University in 2005 as a preceptor of Arabic.  end
